Wed. S.J. boys' roundup: Adu sets another mark

Atlantic City senior Akwasi Adu capped a record-setting regular season with a hat trick on Wednesday afternoon, leading the Vikings to a 4-3 win over visiting Highland in nonleague boys' soccer.

The captain finished with 31 goals this season, shattering the previous team mark of 17. With his third score of the game, he moved past Krste Tankowski (1991) as Atlantic City's career scoring leader with 42 goals.

Coach Maurice Lozzi knows his star forward will be missed next year, describing him as "a hardworking, deserving player.

" He is one of the best players I have ever coached and a great kid."

In other nonleague play:

Shawn Krough scored three goals as host Pennsville eased past Riverside, 6-1.

Jason Coles scored twice to pace Kingsway in a 4-0 victory over visiting Triton.

Olympic. Lenape's Colin Keyes beat the goalkeeper to the ball and scored in overtime to give the Indians a 1-0 win at Bishop Eustace.

Tri-County. Shane Patterson's two second-half goals extended the lead as Clearview blanked Delsea, 3-0, at home.

Jevon Creque and Tim Bernard each notched two goals to lead Glassboro to a 5-1 triumph over visiting Salem.

Senior Maurice Johnson's second-half strike lifted Schalick to a 1-0 victory at Pitman.  

Cape-Atlantic. Middle Township clinched the National Division behind Jacob Towan's first-half goal as the Panthers defeated host Lower Cape May, 1-0. Scott Kurowski assisted on the score.

Guy Shane found the net twice in Hammonton's 3-1 interdivision triumph at Buena.

Jon Gery's two scores led host Wildwood Catholic in a 5-1 win over St. Joseph.

Colonial. Haddonfield's Luke Pease had two goals and an assist in the Bulldogs' 5-2 success at Collingswood.
