Reggie the best

A nice remembrance of the greatest Eagle of all. For those too young or not around during the reign of Reggie: It's not all hype to build up the image. Everything stated here is just a small glimpse of this great player. . . . My still-favorite memory was the 11 sack destruction of Troy Aikman in Dallas by that great Eagles D. It was Al Davis who famously said, "The quarterback must go down. And he must go down hard." That game is what he meant!

Thanks for the article celebrating not only a great player, but a truly wonderful human being as well.

Great article. I remember those days. That's when the Birds were actually fun to watch. They need somebody like Reggie right now.

Eleven sacks on Aikman, house of pain, bodybag game. Great defense, Reggie was the greatest. Wish we could have accomplished more, but he was a pleasure to have watched.

Sixers looking good

(Re: "Bench has plenty of beef," Oct. 21) Holy smokes. Does this team really have the potential it appears to have? They appear to be a handful without Andrew Bynum. I'll be interested to see how Evan Turner fits in now.

This team looks a lot deeper and a lot better shooting from the outside than last year's team. In the games that I've seen, they look like they're younger and longer than last year's team. . . . Time will tell.

It has been a good preseason for the new additions (especially Nick Young, and Dorell Wright). It will be interesting to see if Bynum is fully able to play and what the team will be like with him. He was supposed to be the "big" acquisition. I am interested to see how Turner is used. It appears they have much better outside shooting now, which should help if they can keep the same defensive intensity they had last year.

ET can't shoot. He can't dribble. He's got heart, though, and energy . . . the perfect definition of a key sub. Nothing wrong with that. We finally have a team with skills. Let's not make ET the Jody Meeks of 2012-13.
