A year after falling short in the final, Cristina Kaiser of Plymouth Whitemarsh defeated Callie Frey of Mount Lebanon, 7-5, 6-3, to win the PIAA Class AAA girls' singles tennis championship Saturday at Hershey Racquet Club.
Kaiser topped Zaina Zaki of Unionville, 6-1, 6-4, in a semifinal earlier in the day. Frey topped Harriton's Hannah Drayton, 6-3, 6-2, in the other semifinal.
Kaiser had lost in last year's final, 6-1, 6-2, to Plum's Ronit Yorovsky.
Another singles player and two doubles teams from the area lost in their semifinal matches Saturday.
