Rutgers offers pass/no-credit option after storm

Posted: November 11, 2012

Rutgers University is letting students struggling to recover from recent storms take their classes on a pass/no-credit basis this semester.

The university says students should first seek academic help and speak with their professors if dealing with the aftermath of the storms is getting in the way of schoolwork. The school says students with extreme difficulty also can ask if they can finish the semester's work over the winter break.

As a last resort, they can apply for help that will ensure that their grade-point averages won't be hurt. Approved students can receive either a passing grade for a C or better, or no credit if they cannot do that.

Students will have to decide by Nov. 19 whether to seek that option. - AP
