Store owner shoots man in possible robbery attempt

A shop owner shot another man during what may have been a robbery attempt Wednesday evening in the city's Fairhill section, police said.

About 6:20 p.m., a man in his mid-30s was shot multiple times inside a store in the 900 block of West Somerset Street, police said. The owner, who was not identified, was not injured.

The wounded man was transported to Temple University Hospital and was listed in critical condition. No further details were immediately available.    - Robert Moran
