Shawn Wilson of Cherokee set a quick pace and eased to the state Group 4 boys' cross-country title on Saturday afternoon at Holmdel Park.
The senior navigated the 3.1-mile course in 15 minutes, 40 seconds - 23 seconds ahead of second-place Dylan Tarpey of Freehold Township.
Wilson averaged a 5:03 mile. His time set a school and Burlington County record.
He will not compete in Wednesday's Meet of Champions because of the Foot Locker Northeast Regional next Saturday in New York.
Lenape's Julian Greco pulled in at 16:28 for 12th place.
In girls' Group 2, Meghan Malloy of Haddonfield finished in fourth place with a time of 19:13. The senior averaged a 6:12 mile. Teammate Shelby Cain finished 13th in 19:43.
In boys' Group 2, Haddonfield's Greg Halla placed fourth with a time of 5:14. The Bulldogs totaled 133 team points for third place.
Highland's Steve Maine finished in 16:13 for fourth place in Group 3 boys, and Kingsway won the team title with 110 points. Ryan Magnus was Kingsway's top finisher, clocking in at 16:30 for seventh place.
In Group 3 girls, Seneca's Paige Macauley finished in 19:23 for 11th place as the Golden Eagles compiled 96 team points to finish in second place. In Group 4 girls, Natalia Ocasio of Lenape came in seventh with a time of 19:13 and an average mile of 6:12.
In girls' Non-Public B, Emily Johnson of Wildwood Catholic finished in 21:22 for 16th place.
