Frazier film arrives, with $25,000

THE FILM OF Ali-Frazier I has arrived, and with it a $25,000 check from promoter Jerry Perenchio.

The film will be shown on Monday night at City Hall's Conversation Room to raise money for a statue of Joe Frazier, who won that historic fight in March 1971.

"I previewed it and it looks terrific," said attorney Dick Handley, who is handling the arrangements for "Fight Night at City Hall."

"We're in decent shape," Handley said of response to the $1,000-a-plate event. "The room only holds 60, so we're looking for 50 donors, plus some select guests."

Daily News columnist Stan Hochman will set the scene, referee Rudy Battle will analyze the tactics and the scoring. Those attending will get to answer a 10-question quiz about the fight, with the winner getting two ringside tickets to J. Russell Peltz' fight card Dec. 8 at McGonigle Hall, featuring heavyweight "Bye Bye" Jennings.
