Flyers center Claude Giroux, one of the NHL's best players, is leaving Germany this week to have his neck injury examined by a specialist in Atlanta.
Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said Giroux was returning for "evaluation and as a precaution. He has a neck injury that has been diagnosed as minor."
Still, it has to be disconcerting that there is a chance the injury is more serious and that a concussion is possible.
