Five healthy beverages

Here are my five favorite beverages:

Green Tea

The Chinese have known the benefits of drinking green tea since ancient times. Many experts believe that drinking green tea may inhibit cancer cells, lower cholesterol, and decrease belly fat.

Beet Ginger Cocktail

(excellent cleanser)

1 cucumber

1-2 beets

1 handful of parsley

1 large honey crisp apple

1 lemon peeled

1-2 1 inch ginger (peeled)

Put ingredients in juicer, stir and drink.

Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice

3 juice oranges

Juice oranges with old-fashioned hand juicer.

Collard Green Smoothie

3-4 fresh collard green leafs cut into thin strips

1-2 frozen bananas (presliced)

One cup of cold water and stevia or agave nectar to taste.

Put cold water in blender, followed by 2 handsful of greens, 2 handsful of frozen bananas, and blend till smooth. For a thicker consistency, add 1-2 cups of ice cubes.

Spirulina Smoothie

Blend 1 heaping teaspoon of spirulina, two frozen bananas and 2 packets of Truvia (stevia) or agave nectar for sweetness.

Many believe that spirulina and sea vegetables are the super food of the gods. The Japanese are the largest consumers of sea vegetables, and since they're among the longest-living people, I figure maybe they're on to something. Try a Spirulina Smoothie for breakfast.
