Chester County fugitive fled to Ireland, but cops won’t chase him

SEAN O'NEILL JR. has gotten into a lifetime's worth of legal trouble in his 23 years, and now authorities confirm he's skipped probation and fled to the Emerald Isle to join his dear deported dad.

The younger O'Neill first made headlines in 2006 when he killed his friend while drunkenly playing with a gun at age 17.

Then his father, a Northern Irieland native, was found guilty of citizenship, firearms and tax crimes and deported to his home country after serving 18 months in prison.

O'Neill's sister, Roisin, is serving five to 10 years for a driving-under-the-influence crash that killed a woman in 2008.

Last year, a drunken O'Neill crashed his car in Chester County and was sentenced to two to six months in prison.

He served the time, but Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan said Monday that O'Neill had tested positive for drugs and alcohol while on probation and had fled from supervision.

Prosecutors confirmed Wednesday that O'Neill has escaped to the Republic of Ireland. First Assistant District Attorney Michael Noone said he is not pursuing an extradition from Irish authorities.

"That's not cost-effective in this case, but if he ever sets foot in the United States again he will be arrested," Noone said.
