Q: What does JIMPACT do?
A: We are performance-improvement experts. We help leaders develop people, help them grow people, get beyond the stereotypes, get beyond the stuff that gets in the way of growing a team. We help people who speak light up a room and don't just stand up and use buzzwords and lecture to death by PowerPoint.
I call it POP: Purposeful, original, passionate. If you have POP, you can move people and drive them to buy.
Q: Tell me about your boot camps.
A: We do two-day public boot camps for people from all over the world, and it's kind of a train-the-speaker empowerment workshop. So you might be a manager who leads a sales force. The biggest thing I teach is developing a personal brand about how people perceive and receive you.
Q: Who are your typical clients?
A: We've had Fortune 100, 200 and 500 companies and organizations, but now we're shifting our focus to individuals - moms, dads, college students, single parents, folks dissatisfied with their current work and are looking for an edge.
Q: What does JIMPACT charge for these kinds of services?
A: Right now, our keynote fee is $12,500 up to two hours, regardless of the size of the meeting.
In the past, one- or two-day workshops have been $7,500 per day for the first 20 people and for participants beyond that, an additional $150 individual tuition.
Boot camps are $895 per person if you sign up early, and $995 if it's 30 days or less before the camp.
Q: Your nickname is "Mr. Energy"?
A: I had a mentor who saw me speak and said I had more energy than anybody he ever saw. When I spoke, people came up and said, "man, you've got a lot of energy." Imagine Bill Cosby on steroids.
Q: You got any advice to fire up the Philadelphia Eagles?
A: [Head coach Andy Reid's] message doesn't resonate anymore.
The Eagles haven't reinvented themselves. This team needs to do some self-discovery and develop a brand. They just show up and run around the field and call themselves the Eagles. What are they known for right now? Nothing.
