Powerball has been won 16 times in Pennsylvania, dating back to a $50 million winner in 2002. The biggest win: $110 million cash, won by Steve and Kristine White in 2004. They bought their ticket in Bucks County, but lived across the river in Skillman, N.J. The annuity was also a Pennsylvania record: $213.2 million.
No Pennsylvania ticket has won the Mega Millions jackpot since the state added the game in January 2010.
Here's what the lottery instructs the winner to do: "You must fill out all of the information requested on the back of your PA Lottery Powerball or Mega Millions ticket completely and sign it. You must file your claim at Lottery Headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County. Claimants of multimillion-dollar prizes are encouraged to call 717-702-8146 to speak with someone at Lottery headquarters for additional instructions."
Getting professional legal and financial advice is also recommended.
As for lesser prizes, two tickets sold in Virginia and Louisiana won $1 million each for matching the first five numbers.
The jackpot rebooted to $40 million for Saturday night's drawing.
