Time for Kings' Cousins to grow up

* On Jan. 1, coach Paul Westphal suspended Cousins because he was "unwilling/unable to embrace traveling in the same direction as his team; it cannot be ignored indefinitely." Four days later, Westphal was fired.

* On Nov. 11, the NBA suspended Cousins for two games without pay for confronting San Antonio announcer Sean Elliott.

* On Dec. 13, he was sat a game by the NBA for striking Dallas' O.J. Mayo in the groin area.

* His latest suspension was because of his "unprofessional behavior and conduct detrimental to the team."

So what happened? The Kings were indefinite when it came to the suspension, which was lifted on Monday: No one on the team took credit or blame for lifting the suspension.

There is a belief out of Sac-town that Cousins' agent, Dan Fegan, had something to do with the pulling of the penalty.

Smart said that even though the suspension has been lifted, it doesn't mean Cousins will be playing anytime soon.

Let's hope not, because on Monday, according to the Sacramento Bee's Jason Jones, Cousins was working out with assistant coach Clifford Ray. At one point, voices were raised during the workout, and when the workout finished, Cousins immediately left the court and did not return.

It's time this troubled 22-year-old gets taught a lesson.
