Amar Stukes and La Salle halt Malvern

Amar Stukes collected nine assists Monday, leading visiting La Salle past Malvern, 59-42, in a nonleague boys' basketball game.

Stukes also had 13 points and made all eight of his fourth-quarter free throws to seal the game.

Steve Smith added nine points on a trio of threes in the third quarter and pulled down nine rebounds for the Explorers.

Jimmy Gordon scored a game-high 17 points in a losing effort for Malvern Prep.

In other nonleague play, host Father Judge cruised to a 57-32 win against Springside Chestnut Hill behind 15 points from Sean Hanna.

The Crusaders scored the game's first nine points on threes from Hanna, Will Brazukas, and Jeff Seigafuse and never looked back.

Malik Robinson and Brandon McGuire added 14 and 13 points respectively for Father Judge.

Rashann London had 24 points for Roman Catholic in a 70-46 win at Penn Charter.

Yosef Yacob had 19 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals in Archbishop Carroll's 74-26 victory against visiting Prep Charter.

Yacob, Ernest Aflakpui, and Armand Mostardi combined for 20 points as Carroll opened up a 24-3 lead in the first quarter.
