Here is a look at the announced candidates for the Eagles' head-coaching job:


Current job: First season as Falcons defensive coordinator

NFL experience: Head coach of 49ers from 2005-08; 18-37 record. Has coached in NFL since 1987. Defensive coordinator for Ravens, Jets, Redskins, Giants, Broncos and Dolphins and linebackers coach for Broncos.

Notes: Son of former 49ers and Saints head coach Dick Nolan. Mike Nolan wore a suit and tie during games as a tribute to his father . . . Graduate of Oregon . . . 53 years old.


Current job: First season as Falcons offensive coordinator

NFL experience: Jaguars offensive coordinator, 2007-11. Also quarterbacks coach, 2011.

Notes: From Pocatello, Idaho, son of a coach . . . Had 66-44 record as college head coach: 1998-2000, at Boise State (26-10); 2001-06, at Arizona State (40-34) . . . He will turn 54 a couple of days after the Super Bowl.


Current job: Falcons special-teams coach since 2008

NFL experience: Falcons safeties coach (1994-95); Falcons secondary coach (1996); Bears special-teams coach (1997-2000); Dolphins special-teams coach (2001-07)

Notes: NFL Network reported that Armstrong will be interviewed to replace Lovie Smith as Bears head coach . . . Armstrong is a native of Trenton who grew up in Levittown. He played football at Bishop Egan High and Temple. Was a graduate assistant with the Owls in 1987 . . . 47 years old.

Current job: First season as Colts offensive coordinator

NFL experience: Has been an assistant with Chiefs, Saints, Colts, Browns, Steelers and Colts again.

Notes: Former Temple head coach from 1983-88. He went 21-45 in his only head-coaching job . . . He stepped in as Colts interim head coach this season when Chuck Pagano was diagnosed with leukemia. Arians helped guide Indianapolis to a 9-3 record and a playoff spot, earning high praise along the way . . . 60 years old.


Current job: Second season as Bengals offensive coordinator

NFL experience: Offensive assistant coach for Bucs (2002-08), working for his brother, Jon Gruden.

Notes: At 45, he is the younger brother of Jon by 4 years . . . Quarterback at Louisville . . . Won four ArenaBowl titles with Tampa Bay Storm. He was Arena league MVP in 1992. Won two ArenaBowl titles as head coach of Orlando Predators . . . Played one season with the Barcelona Dragons, of the World League of American Footabll (1991)


Current job: Head coach at Penn State

NFL experience: With Patriots from 2007-2011, as wide-receivers coach, quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator

Notes: Sports Illustrated reported Tuesday that O'Brien is strongly considering interviewing with an NFL team. The magazine did not name a specific team. The Eagles, Browns and Jaguars have been mentioned in reports as having interest . . . 43 years old.


Current job: Analyst for ESPN's "Monday Night Football"

NFL experience: Won Super Bowl with Bucs in 2003, beating the Raiders. Former Eagles offensive coordinator (1995-97); former head coach with Raiders. Also an assistant with 49ers and Packers . . . 49 years old


Current job: Head coach at Oregon

NFL experience: None. He reportedly turned down the Bucs after last season . . . Kelly is the hot college coach this year, given his gimmicky offense. Offensive coordinator for two seasons before becoming head coach in 2009. He is 45-7 as Ducks head coach . . . 49 years old.


Current job: 49ers offensive coordinator since 2011

NFL experience: Assistant coach with Panthers, Texans and Ravens

Notes: Native of Ventnor, N.J., and a

graduate of Holy Spirit High . . . 40 years old


Current job: NFL analyst for CBS

NFL experience: Won Super Bowl XL in 2005 season. Head coach of Steelers for 15 years (1992-2006); won 62 percent of his games as head coach . . . Has been out of coaching since after 2006 season.

Notes: Played for the Eagles (1983-84) and Browns (1980-82) . . . 55 years old


Current job: Broncos offensive coordinator, since 2009.

NFL experience: Offensive assistant coach with Panthers from 2000-09

Note: 40 years old


Current job: Bengals defensive coordinator since 2008

NFL experience: Defensive coordinator with Cowboys (2000-06); Falcons (2007) . . . 19 years of NFL coaching.

Note: 56 years old


Current job: 49ers defensive coordinator, since 2011

NFL experience: Linebackers coach for Saints and Ravens, defensive coordinator for Texans, Colts and Panthers

Notes: Assistant defensive coach for USFL's Baltimore Stars in 1985. The Stars were previously based in Philadelphia . . . 54 years old
