Mellits to lead Ballard sector

Posted: January 04, 2013

The Ballard Spahr law firm said Thursday that Bart Mellits, who represents clients in real estate leasing, acquisition, development and other matters, has been named chair of the firm's real estate department, a 110-lawyer practice group across 11 of the firm's 13 offices.

Mellits succeeds Michael Sklaroff, who established the department 25 year ago and who has played a key role in the development of many of the region's most prominent buildings, including the Philadelphia Orchestra's home at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.

The firm said that Sklaroff will continue his real estate practice.
