A 35TH DISTRICT cop was arrested Wednesday and charged with physically assaulting his wife.
Officer James Timms, 41, was off duty when the alleged incident happened inside his home on Manheim Street near Greene, in Germantown, police said.
After the arrest, Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey suspended Timms for 30 days, with dismissal likely to follow.
The assault charges also include making terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person.
Last year, four Philadelphia police officers were arrested on similar charges, including a case stemming from an incident outside Caesar's Atlantic City casino. The three others were domestic disputes.
