Louisville's Behanan on mend

Chane Behanan could be available for No. 3 Louisville when it faces South Florida on Saturday.

Cardinals coach Rick Pitino said Friday that X-rays revealed a spur in Behanan's injured left ankle that was causing pain rather than the sprain the sophomore forward sustained in practice on Monday. He missed Wednesday night's 73-58 victory at Seton Hall and was expected to be out 7 to 10 days.

Behanan told assistant coaches that he was ready to play and Pitino said, "he says he can play, so I'm going to take him for his word." However, the coach expects Behanan to test the ankle before Saturday's Big East Conference game.

Freshman Montrezl Harrell replaced Behanan against Seton Hall and finished with 14 points and three rebounds for Louisville (14-1, 2-0).
