A Montgomery County jury pushed back against the no-snitch culture in Norristown and found Rayon Scarlett guilty of kidnapping and threatening a man who had gone to authorities about a crime alleged to involve Scarlett.
The jury Monday found Scarlett, 25, guilty of two counts of kidnapping, one count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping, and one count of terroristic threats. He was found not guilty of a robbery charge.
In 2007, Khanneil Headley gave Montgomery County detectives a statement regarding an unrelated drug case. The statement led to Scarlett's facing felony drug and weapons possession charges. After learning of the statement, Scarlett held Headley, his brother-in-law, hostage in March 2008, tying him up for more than five hours and threatening to kill him for going to police. - Carolyn Davis
