A storm system sweeping up through the South is on a track that makes snow likely tonight in far South Jersey and Lower Delaware.
But the revised forecast has dropped mention of any precipitation for Philadelphia or its Pennsylvania suburbs. Not even a chance of rain.
Cape May could get up to three inches, Atlantic City and Dover, Del., up to two. Vineland might get a half-inch - half of what was forecast this morning.
Wilmington and Baltimore still have a shot to also see a half-inch.
The heaviest snow was expected below Washington, D.C.
"The mountains of North Carolina to southwestern Virginia could be on the receiving end of a foot of snow or more," according to AccuWeather.com.
The Weather Channel has even dubbed this threatening winter storm Iago, after the villainous advisor in Shakespeare's Othello.
Some of the winter's coldest weather is coming, with even more frigid conditions next week.
On Friday, Philadelphia should see sunny skies with a high in the mid 30s, and overnight lows in the upper 20s.
The weekend could see the best weather for a while, with highs in the mid to upper 40s under sunny skies, but Sunday night could drop into the low 20s.
By Tuesday, highs could even be below freezing.
