One man was killed and a woman and child suffered minor injuries in the home invasion and robbery of an upscale home in a remote area of Hilltown Township, Bucks County.

The robbers, both armed with handguns and considered armed and dangerous, remain at large, police said.

FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents have joined the investigation.

Police described one of the intruders as an Asian man who was wearing cargo pants and a black jacket, and the other as a taller man, about 5-foot-9. The two spent several hours in the house, police said.

The the dead man as Joseph Canazaro, 48. They said that Canazaro and the woman lived in, but did not own, the house.

At day's end details still are sketchy, but police said they were called to the scene about 10:30 a.m. in the 300 block of Swartley Road.

Police confirmed that the woman and her 12-year-old son, who lived at the house, were tied up during the ordeal and suffered minor injuries as a result. A second child was at school, they said.

The men fled in a 2006 Lincoln XLT pickup truck that contained an undisclosed quantity of weapons. It was unclear whether those weapons were stolen from the home.

The pickup later was recovered in the north end of the county.

Police say they do not know how the bandits got to the home, how the incident began, nor what was taken.
