A 64-YEAR-OLD woman was killed Tuesday night in a fire in Hunting Park, and the cause appears to have been careless smoking, a police official said.
The fire began about 9 p.m. in a boardinghouse on Roosevelt Boulevard near Broad Street and engulfed the second floor in flames, said Chief Inspector Scott Small.
The woman's body was found in a second-floor front bedroom, Small said. No other injuries were reported.
