W. Deptford's Kaminski earns 100th win

Tyler Kaminski's 100th victory was going to be a big moment whenever it happened. But for the West Deptford wrestler to pick it up against the caliber of competition he did Wednesday, and to do it during such a dramatic team victory made it all the sweeter.

Kaminski earned a 9-2 decision over district champion Brian Navarro at 120 pounds, and West Deptford beat visiting Haddon Township, 31-30, on a tiebreaker.

The match was decided by Criteria D, which uses the number of individual matches won by each school. West Deptford prevailed, 8-6.

"Tyler's been every coach's dream. He's the first guy in the room, the last to leave," West Deptford coach Chris Scannell said. "He's the kind of wrestler every coach talks about getting and rarely does."

Kaminski, who was a regional champ at 113 last season, had plenty of help from his fellow seniors.

Rory Bonner's pin at 195 pounds helped turn the match in West Deptford's favor, and Christian Turner sealed it by winning at 152. After a slow start to the season, the Eagles have won eight straight.

"You lean on those accomplished guys," Scannell said. "Our lineup is coming together."
