Wed. S.J. girls: Brown lifts Moorestown Friends

Jasmine Brown's putback with two minutes left in regulation Wednesday night propelled Moorestown Friends past visiting Pennsauken Tech, 33-28, in nonleague girls' basketball.

The junior forward rebounded a free throw and hit a layup to put Moorestown Friends up by seven points.

Brown finished with eight points, Lauren Lowe added nine, and Sarah Henig had six.

Kelyn Sequeira led Pennsauken Tech with nine points, and Georgianna Randall added eight.

In other nonleague action, Nikki Adams' 10 points led a balanced offense and helped Schalick top Atlantic County Tech, 46-34.

Allissa Long, Ramsey Reed, and Superia Ryan added nine points each. Yasmeen Nelson led Tech with a game-high 20.

S.J. Invitational. Lauren Holden's game-high 17 points enabled Lower Cape May to knock off host Timber Creek, 56-40, in the first round of the tournament.

Maddi Gibson and Megan Turner added 14 points each. Desiree Furbert led the Chargers with 14 points. In the second round, Lower Cape May will visit Willingboro on Feb. 5.
