Women's College Basketball: Roberts' 26 points spark 'Nova victory

Rachel Roberts' career-high 26 points led Villanova to a 64-59 win over Syracuse on Saturday at the Pavilion.

In a game that featured 13 lead changes and 11 ties, the Orange (16-3, 4-2 Big East) drew within three with 1 minute, 12 seconds remaining but did not score the rest of the way. Devon Kane sealed the win for the Wildcats (16-3, 5-1) by hitting two free throws with eight seconds remaining.

St. Joseph's 61, St. Bonaventure 44 - Ilze Gotfrida scored a career-high 21 points to lead the Hawks (13-5, 4-0 Atlantic Ten) past the Bonnies at Hagan Arena.

Notre Dame 89, Providence 44 Skylar Diggins scored 21 points, all in the first half when she was 9-of-9 shooting, to reach 2,000 for her career, and the No. 2 Fighting Irish (18-1, 7-0 Big East) dominated the Friars (6-13, 1-5) in South Bend, Ind., to win their 13th straight.
