The Philadelphia Common Pleas Court jury considering the child-rape charges against the Rev. Charles Engelhardt and former parochial-school teacher Bernard Shero ended its first full day of deliberations Monday.
The jury of eight men and four women, which deliberated two hours on Friday, returns to the Criminal Justice Center on Tuesday morning. The jury sent out four questions but, with one exception involving a possible witness who did not testify, Judge Ellen Ceisler answered in writing after meeting privately with prosecution and defense lawyers.
