"I'm excited! This is such an honor!" exclaimed Alexandra Warner, a raven-tressed 20-year-old from Allentown, after being named top Wingette this morning.
She beat 105 other women, to also win a Harley Davidson during Wing Bowl XXI, held at a soldout Wells Fargo Center. Warner got 56 percent of the texted-in votes, according to 94 WIP blaster of ceremonies, Angelo Cataldi.
And it was just her first trip to the annual gorge-aganza, which was won by James "The Bear" McDonald from Connecticut.
No way to say Warner won by being more racy or outrageous, by the way. Her lacy white two-piece outfit was less cheeky of a choice than what some other Wingettes wore.
"I recommend everyone come to Wing Bowl," Warner said, following an interview with a very pregnant Katherine Scott, who reports for 6ABC.
One can only imagine what the baby was thinking, hearing perhaps the loudest racket this side of a major airport runway.
"There is absolutely nothing wrong with it," Warner said, extolling the role of Wingettes in assisting the eating contestants. ". . . What better way to hype them up?"
Warner, who works at a club called Platinum Plus, laughed and said the first place she might ride her Harley was Cheerleaders gentleman's club in Philly.
Then she smilingly acceded to a series of requests from young men to pose together in pictures, despite sporting a fairly large diamond ring, a Christmas present from her boyfriend.
