Sideshow: Directors Guild picks Affleck

Posted: February 04, 2013

It's unanimous. Nearly so anyway. This weekend, Ben Affleck took home the top prize at the Directors Guild of America Awards for his work on Argo. His winning streak now includes the Producers Guild, the Screen Actors Guild, and the Golden Globes.

The man is unstoppable, right? Well, except for the fact that he was inexplicably snubbed by Feb. 24's Academy Awards. Affleck will be only the seventh person since 1948 to win the Directors Guild honor without taking the Oscar.

Zombies attack

Audiences warmed to Warm Bodies, the new zombie romantic comedy that topped the weekend box office with $20 million.

Sylvester Stallone's action film Bullet to the Head arrived cold, landing in sixth place with a below-modest $4.5 million.
