An unidentified man was struck and killed by a SEPTA train this evening and ensuing delays held thousands of homebound commuters in limbo.
An outbound train on the Lansdale/Doylestown Line hit the man about 6:15 p.m. near the North Hills station in Glenside, said SEPTA spokesman Andrew Busch.
"The person was in the track area," Busch said. "We don't know how close to the station it was."
Service resumed at about 8:30 p.m. after a shutdown of the line for two hours.
