The death of a Camden woman burned in a fire Friday afternoon has been ruled a homicide, authorities said, with the victim stabbed multiple times before the building was set on fire.

The woman has been identified as Rhonda Scott, 38, of the 500 block of Grant Street in Camden. Scott was stabbed multiple times before being severely burned in the fire, Camden County Prosecutor Warren Faulk and Camden Police Chief Scott Thomson said Saturday.

The fire appears to have been set intentionally, they said, in the abandoned home on the 1700 block of Tioga Street, in the Liberty Park section of the city. It was reported around 4:45 p.m.
