Five V-Day foods that will love you back

1 CHOCOLATE

Bar none, it's the mother of all aphrodisiac foods, containing complex compounds that flood our brains with dopamine - the love chemical that's released during orgasm. Studies indicate eating chocolate in moderation is good for the heart.

2 FIGS

They've had a rep as the sexy fruit since biblical times. Some cultures associate an open fig with female sex organs; ancient cultures considered it a talisman of love and fertility.

3 AVOCADO

Rich in folic acid, vitamin B6 and potassium, this fruit was revered by the Aztecs, who thought avocados resembled testicles and increased sexual desire. Avocado pairs well with dark chocolate to create awesome vegan desserts.

4 ALMONDS

Chock full of vitamin E, magnesium, fat and fiber, almonds have for centuries been seen as having aphrodisiac powers. I don't know about that, but I do love them plain or dipped in chocolate.

5 ASPARAGUS

Legend has it that the phallic-looking veggie stirs the passions in men and women. And if not, it's still filled with good stuff - antioxidants, folate, potassium, fiber and B vitamins.
