Construction to restrict I-95 nighttime traffic

Motorists can expect nighttime closures on I-95 next week as construction crews begin work on a $21.6 million project to repair 28 bridges in Philadelphia and Delaware County.

From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday, two lanes will be closed northbound between Philadelphia International Airport and the Walt Whitman Bridge. On Feb. 22, two lanes will be closed southbound between the Walt Whitman Bridge and Island Avenue from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Over the next three years, crews will make repairs:

Near the I-76/Walt Whitman interchange (15 bridges).

Over the Route 322 (Conchester Highway) interchange (one bridge).

Over the Route 322 interchange near the Commodore Barry Bridge (one bridge).

Near Enterprise Avenue (six bridges).

Along the ramp to the Betsy Ross Bridge interchange (one bridge).

Near the Academy Road interchange (two bridges).

Over Poquessing Creek (one bridge).

Between Walt Whitman Bridge/Packer Avenue and I-676/Route 30 (one bridge).
