Rancocas Valley boys top St. Augustine

Rancocas Valley used a fourth-quarter comeback Sunday to win its 18th consecutive game, beating St. Augustine, 49-47, in the Cherry Hill East Tournament.

The Red Devils (23-2), who are ranked seventh in South Jersey by The Inquirer, trailed by five at the half.

Vince Anfield scored 15, and Ned Ogoemesim added 12 for Rancocas Valley, which hasn't lost in 2013.

David Sullivan led eighth-ranked St. Augustine (20-4) with 14 points.

Also in the Cherry Hill East Tournament:

Cinnaminson snapped Sterling's eight-game winning streak with a 71-67 victory. Rashone Damone led the Pirates with 21 points.

Fourth-ranked Shawnee went 12 for 12 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to seal a 52-43 win over Holy Spirit. Josh Borrelli scored 15 points.

Girls' Basketball

Tyra Satchell scored 21 points to lead Sterling past Gloucester Catholic, 45-42, in the third-place game of the South Jersey Invitational at Eastern. Sterling outscored the Rams, 21-12, from the line.

In a showcase game at Eastern, Middle Township's Lauren Legler hit a half-court shot at the first-quarter buzzer, but Clearview dominated from there in a 49-40 win. Kennedi Thompson scored 16, and Alexi Plitt went 7 for 8 from the line in the fourth quarter.
