Woman hurt leaping from burning E. Germantown home

A woman in her 40s was injured jumping from the second floor of a burning home in East Germantown overnight.

A Philadelphia Fire Department dispatcher said the blaze broke out shortly after midnight on the two-story home on the 5000 block of Baynton Street.

One person was helped out, but another, said to be a woman in her 40s, according to police dispatchers, jumped from the second floor and may have injured her head.

She was taken to Einstein Medical Center and her condition was unknown.

The fire was brought under control about 1 a.m.
