Four Chester City residents have been charged with criminal homicide and other offenses in the killing of alleged drug dealer Jamal Scott in West Chester on Jan. 25, Chester County District Attorney Thomas P. Hogan said Tuesday.

Charged are Anthony J. Brightwell, 24, of the 2100 block of Edgemont Avenue; Sergio J. Droz, 20, of the 700 block of East Ninth Street; Tyrone Palmer, 21, of the 100 block of West 22d Street; and Calvin I. Thompson, 21, of the 500 block of Lloyd Street.

Arrest documents allege that Brightwell got into a car driven by Scott and shot him. Droz then walked up and fired three more shots at Scott, police said.

A witness told police "that Droz and Brightwell said they took marijuana from Scott that night," according to the arrest documents. The shooting occurred near Matlack and Union Streets.

Palmer "admitted to driving from Chester to West Chester and then back to Chester with all of the codefendants," according to the arrest documents.

The documents stated that Thompson "confessed that on Jan. 25, 2013, he helped organize the group . . . for the purpose of robbing unknowing drug dealers in West Chester."
