Fri. S.J. wrestling: N. Burlington's Edmond advances

Northern Burlington's Tyree Edmond made quick work on Friday night of Hightstown's Connor Paul in the NJSIAA District 25 wrestling quarterfinals at Steinert.

Edmond, 132 pounds, picked up a pin in 2 minutes, 59 seconds.

In other District 25 action, New Egypt's Jake Klige needed only 23 seconds to pin Northern Burlington's Ryan Rue and advance to the semifinals at 160 pounds.

District 26. Bordentown's Tyler Kerr moved on to the semifinals after earning a major decision against host Holy Cross' Jake McKenna, 14-4, at 106 pounds.

At 220 pounds, Eastern's Izreal Brooks only used 32 seconds to pin Burlington City's Fritz Shields and advance to the quarterfinals.

District 27. Cherokee D.J. Mele pinned Cherry Hill East's David Aningalan at 126 pounds in the round of eight at Cherokee. At 152 pounds, Camden Catholic's Chad Walsh cruised into the semifinals with a pin against Cherry Hill East's David Linsky in 31 seconds.

District 28. Paul VI's Ralph Venuto survived a 6-4 decision against Audubon's James Livecchi to move on to the semifinals.

Collingswood's Pat Miles moved past Audubon's Tyler Aceto at 195 pounds with a 12-8 decision, sending him to the semis.

District 29. Tim Robinson, representing Paulsboro, topped Pitman's Dan Leash in a major decision, 9-1, at 113 pounds in the round of eight.

Clearview's John Van Brill pinned Matt Davis from Gloucester Catholic in 41 seconds to advance to the semifinals at 145 pounds.

District 30. Triton's Anthony Masciocchi moved to the semifinals with a 5-3 decision against Christian Darling of Winslow Township.

District 32. Brandon Bower from Holy Spirit pinned Middle Township's Jacob Kershaw in 46 seconds to advance to the semifinals at 138 pounds.
