The Falls Township sugar plant where a man died Monday after falling into a sugar vat had recorded 10 worker safety violations in 2010, according to records from the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
The violations - six listed as serious, four in the category "other" - ranged from hazards involving personal protective equipment, record-keeping issues, and problems with fire extinguishers, records show. The violations were recorded during an inspection by the agency when the plant was located in Swedesboro.
