Wed. S.J. girls: Satchell helps Sterling rally

Fortunately for the fourth-seeded Sterling girls' basketball team, Tyra Satchell saved her best for the second half.

The Silver Knights trailed by three points at the break to fifth-seeded Cedar Creek, but Satchell poured in 18 of her 26 points after halftime in a 61-50 win in a South Jersey Group 2 quarterfinal Wednesday night.

The senior point guard also dished out five assists and went a perfect 9 for 9 from the free-throw line. Fellow senior Tori Shinkowitz netted a career-high 12 points.

Willingboro 87, Lower Cape May 56 - Senior Micahya Owens scored 19 of her game-high 29 points in the first half as the host Chimeras eased to the win.

Cinnaminson 39, Collingswood 35 - Melissa Tarte and Naja Tredwell combined for nine of the host Pirates' 12 third quarter points to seal the victory.

Middle Township 51, Woodstown 34 - The host Panthers rolled behind 26 points from junior point guard Lauryn Fields.

South Jersey Group 4

Taylour Jones and Tayler Holmes each knocked down three three-pointers as host Lenape defeated Toms River East, 44-31, in a quarterfinal. Jones netted 13 points, and Holmes chipped in 11.

Williamstown 45, Atlantic City 33 - Junior center Julia Dixon scored six of her team-high 12 points in the opening quarter to lead the host Braves to its first semifinal appearance in Group 4.

S. Jersey Non-Public B

Sacred Heart's Kennedy Johnson recorded a triple-double to power the Lions over visiting Wildwood Catholic, 42-30.

Johnson finished with 19 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 blocks.

The win marked the third time this season that Sacred Heart topped the Crusaders.

St. Joseph 69, Holy Family Academy 27 - Dana DiRenzo's 12 points and 14 rebounds powered the Wildcats.
