'NJWeedman' gets 9 months in joint

A BURLINGTON COUNTY judge Tuesday sentenced Ed "NJWeedman" Forchion to nine months in jail for violating probation.

Forchion has lived in California in recent years but was sentenced to probation in Burlington County for marijuana possession. He's been in jail, however, since he was arrested Jan. 31 at Philadelphia International Airport while boarding a plane to California.

According to a report in the Burlington County Times, Superior Court Judge Charles Delehey said Forchion would be released in time to continue his treatments for bone tumors.

Forchion is an unabashed supporter of the liberalization of marijuana laws. The case in which he was sentenced stems from a 2010 traffic stop in Mount Holly, where police found a pound of marijuana in the trunk of his car.
