Cops: Cherry Hill man used own home as brothel

Posted: March 14, 2013

Cherry Hill police have charged a 47-year-old township man with promoting prostitution after he allegedly solicited services online and used his own home for the encounters.

Michael Clarke, of the 300 block of Oak Avenue on the township's west side, was held at the Camden County Jail in Camden in lieu of $15,000 bail.

Police said the arrest capped a three month investigation that began when they received complaints from area residents who reported suspicious activity at his home.

Clarke was advertising the services of female prostitutes on Internet sites, police said. He then coordinated their sexual encounters, providing transportation and allowing them to use his home, as well as local motels.

Police took computers, cameras, cell phones and other evidence from his home as part of the investigation.
