The Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corp. plans to launch on April 5 a two-year marketing campaign that will highlight the city's neighborhoods - Fairmount, for example - through various ads and a heavy social-media presence.

The campaign is being funded by a grant from the William Penn Foundation and is intended to link up with other recent GPTMC campaigns, including one on the city's food scene, president and chief executive Meryl Levitz said Tuesday.

"It was clear another Philadelphia was coming up and getting into people's consciousness - but one not yet explored," Levitz said. "We want people to go one block further."

Details on the 14 neighborhoods to be showcased will be announced when the campaign, its logo, and website are officially launched next month. - Suzette Parmley
