Glassboro police seek tire slashing vandals

Glassboro police looking for two vandals responsible for a weekend tire slashing spree in the college town are studying surveillance video showing two men in one parking lot were several vehicles were targeted.

During a three-day spree Easter weekend, the Glassboro Police Department took about 16 reports of tires slashed at different locations, many of them belonging to Rowan University students.

"The reports stem from off campus," said Rowan spokesman Joe Cardona.

Initially, all of the victims were affiliated with Rowan either as a student or as a guest, police said. As the weekend progressed, more reports followed with victims that were not connected to Rowan.

The university sent e-mails to its 2,000 students to make them aware of the crimes.

An officer for the Glassboro Police Department said investigators are reviewing surveillance video from a store where two suspicious men were spotted in a parking lot where several vehicles were damaged.

Anyone with information, or who witnessed suspicious activity during that time, is asked to call Glassboro Police Department at 856-881-1501 or university police at 856-256-4922.
