Posted: April 03, 2013

Paul VI had already made one dramatic comeback Tuesday. Why not another?

Megan Wall's double to the gap in right-center scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning and gave host Paul VI a 10-9 win over Lenape in a nonleague softball game.

Paul VI, which had scored four runs in the sixth inning to tie it, entered the bottom of the eighth trailing by one. Dylan Jarvis tied it with a home run to left field.

Steph Heresniak, who doubled twice, then walked. Breck Urban singled to move her over, setting the stage for Wall's walkoff hit.

Heresniak went 3 for 4 with four RBIs. Jarvis was 2 for 3 with two RBIs.

Danielle McKinn cracked a three-run homer for Lenape.

In other nonleague action:

Tricia Griffin went 2 for 3 with two runs scored to lead Cherokee to a 4-1 win at Winslow Township. Liani Ortiz hit an RBI triple for the Chiefs.

Rosie LaGrotta threw a five-inning perfect game in Sacred Heart's 16-0 win over visiting Bridgeton. She struck out nine. Danielle Lugo went 3 for 4, including a grand slam, and drove in seven runs.

Colonial Conference. Joanna Pizzo's RBI single in the eighth inning gave Haddon Township the lead for good in an 8-6 win at Audubon.

Maresa Malcolm homered and went 2 for 2 in Haddon Heights' 17-5 win at Collingswood. Catcher Mattie McCleery doubled twice and went 4 for 5. She needs two more hits to reach 100 for her career.
