The Upper Moreland woman who stabbed the boyfriend was charged Wednesday with murder after the victim, who called 911 to report the incident, died Tuesday night from his wounds.

Candice Phillips, 48, is being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

On Tuesday at about 8 a.m., Upper Moreland Township Police went to the Wellington Apartments at 2529 Horsham Rd., in response to a reported stabbing at the apartment Myron McClinton, 54, shared with Phillips.

A 911 caller Tuesday identified himself as McClinton and told the dispatcher, "I've been cut twice by a knife from, uh, by Candice Phillips. I'm bleeding real bad."

When officers arrived at the apartment, a woman with what appeared to be blood on her face told police: "He's upstairs, I did it. I did it." The woman later was identified as Phillips.

McClinton was found lying in the blood-splattered master bedroom; a bloody knife was recovered from between the box spring and the mattress. He was suffering from respiratory arrest when he was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital, where he died after undergoing surgery for his injuries.
