The Flyers agreed on Wednesday to two-year contract extensions with forwards Zac Rinaldo and Jay Rosehill. No financial terms were immediately released.

The 22-year-old Rinaldo is not expected to return in the regular season due to a high-ankle sprain. He was paid $544,444 this year.

"I am really honored to be part of the organizaton for another two years," Rinaldo said.

Rosehill, 27, is an enforcer who has played seven games with the Flyers since being acquired from Anaheim. He already has 47 penalty minutes, which is fourth on the team. Rosehill is earning $550,000 this year, and his extension likely means the end of Jody Shelley, whose contract expires at the end of this season.

"A lot has changed for me the last few weeks," Rosehill said, "and to come to this organization and feel part of it right away and to get the confidence in them to sign an extension is really exciting for me."

Rinaldo would have been a restricted free agent next season, and Rosehill would have been an unrestricted free agent.
