There's nothing like showing a little sensitivity during a time of crisis. But apparently, sensitivity is not a job requirement if you're a member of the Arkansas state legislature.

This morning, Arkansas State Rep. Nate Bell, a life member of the NRA, sent out a sneering tweet wondering how many "Boston liberals" might be wishing for an assault rifle with a high-capacity magazine. This as local, state and federal police agencies scoured the city for the surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings.

The tweet had an additional air of gloating, considering it came after a bill to strengthen gun background checksfailed to pass in the U.S. Senate.

Bell seems to court controversy on social media. The one-time chicken farmer reportedly baited Arkansas Democrats calling them Nazis in a Facebook post.

According to VoteSmart.org Bell, a Republican, has backed successful legislation to prohibit the governor from regulating firearms in an emergency; voted to authorize university staff to carry concealed handguns and voted to allow concealed handguns in places of worship.
