Eagles name new cheerleaders

The Eagles announced their new cheerleading squad this morning, following Monday night's audition finale at the Kimmel Center.

Hundreds attended the sold-out event, hosted by 94 WIP's Spike Eskin, at the Perelman Theater, to see 60 young women perform dance routines, demonstrate their poise and fitness, and field personalized questions about everything from bullying to running a business.

Just 38 were chosen, including 30 returnees, by a panel of 10 judges that included former Eagles running back Ricky Watters, co-owner Christina Weiss Lurie, and defensive end Raheem Brock, who went to Temple.

That means just eight newbies survived three rounds of competition that begin with several hundred women at the Open Call Auditions on March 23.

The rookies are sales manager Deonna Baquero, a Rutgers grad; Drexel design and marketing major Gabriella Cifaloglio (who joins twin sister Sage on the squad); Cumberland County College business student Erica Garcia; Wilmington University education student Nadirah Johnson; Temple broadcast journalism student Alexandra Keller; University of the Arts dance major Malia Makaila; Villanova grad and St. Joe's MBA student Michaelaann Mazzochi; and teacher Amanda Moffa, a West Chester University grad.

Among the returnees are:

-- Casey Baldwin, who won Monday night's beauty award and visited China this year as one of the NFL's Pro Bowl cheerleaders.

-- Amanda Rose, who was featured in the January/February issues of Maxim magazine.

-- Corinne Jenkins, featured on the cover of the Eagles swimsuit calendar.

-- Marissa Patterson, who won Monday night's dance award.

-- Cat Adduci, fitness award winner.

-- Jackie Ranieri, who won Monday for best onstage interview.

"She gave a very impressive answer about the importance of keeping physical education in school curriculums," said Barbara Zaun, Eagles director of cheerleading, who was also a judge.

Also returning: two Alicias, Amanda Grace, Becky, Charnei, Chastity, Chelsey, Cheryl, Claudette, Danae, Danielle, Erica, Ivelisse, Jamielee, Janel, Jen, Jessica, Katrina, Lauren, Michelle, Sage, Stephanie, Teresa and Tiffany.

All 30 of the vets will appear at the Eagles Draft Party on Thursday night, according to Zaun.

On Saturday, Alicia Marie, Amanda Rose, Charnei, Chastity, Katrina and Sage will be at Radio City Music Hall for Round 3 of the NFL draft.
