Cherry Hill East freshman Ian Sheeky scored five goals Friday, and the Cougars held on for a 9-8 nonleague win against visiting Ocean City for their first victory of the boys' lacrosse season.

Brandon Stern added three goals for Cherry Hill East, which had lost its first eight games of the season. Dan Spatol led Ocean City with four goals.


Ben Acero's two-run double for Camden Catholic proved to be too much for host Paul VI, and the Irish picked up a 12-9 win.

Acero finished 3 for 4 with two doubles and three RBIs. His two-run double in the sixth capped a six-run inning that put Camden Catholic ahead, 11-7.

In other Olympic National play, Winslow Township beat visiting Seneca, 2-0, behind Darnell Maisonet's five-hit shutout.

Jon Gonzalez slugged a solo home run for Winslow Township.

Olympic American. Matt Rykaczewski delivered a two-run double as a part of a four-run third inning to lift host Cherokee over Lenape, 5-3.

Colonial. Sean Sack gave up three runs over five innings to pick up a win and went 3 for 3 at the blate with a pair of RBIs to lead Haddon Heights past visiting Sterling.

Frank Delaney picked up two hits, including a double, for Haddon Heights in the win.

Tylor Bane gave up two runs on three hits in seven strong innings for host Collingswood, which beat Overbrook, 8-2.

John Cappelli went 2 for 3 with a pair of singles and a sacrifice fly for Collingswood.

Haddon Township's Nick Marino gave up two hits on the mound and delivered a pair of his own at the plate, both doubles which, knocking in four runs, in a 13-2 rout of visiting Lindenwold.

Tyler Easterday doubled and drove in three runs for Haddon Township.

Burlington County Patriot. Cinnaminson's Cole Pewor went 2 for 4 and knocked in three runs in a 10-0 victory at Pemberton.

Bordentown's Austin Papp tossed a four-hit shutout with six strikeouts to beat visiting Delran, 6-0.

Burlington County Independence. Tim McHale tripled and Medord Tech held on for a 15-14 win despite a seven-run seventh inning by Westampton Tech.

Nonleague. Tom Kleinhans threw a four-hit shutout and struck out six to help GCIT top host Gloucester, 3-0.

Ryan Shinn fanned 11, doubled, and homered for Northern Burlington in a 10-6 win against visiting Triton.

Eric Arenberg and Jim Versage doubled in Middle Township's 13-0 home win against Camden County Tech.

Jon Cosenza knocked in a run and scored another in a three-run fourth inning for Delsea, which proved to be enough for a 3-2 victory at Woodstown.

Wilbert Pichardo and Benny Reyes doubled to help host Camden Academy Charter beat Bridgeton, 10-6.
