Burlington Township pulled off a 2-0 upset at Ocean City on Friday to win its first South Jersey Group 3 baseball championship.

Bobby Palenthar followed an Isaiah Hall triple with an RBI single in the top of the sixth inning. Dennis Stewart added an insurance run with an RBI single in the seventh.

That was plenty of support for Ryan Bell, who pitched a two-hit shutout. The Falcons entered the tournament as the fifth seed. Ocean City was No. 3.

C.J. Group 3. Frank Bilancio's RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning gave Northern Burlington a 4-3 win over Wall Township and its first sectional title.

Zack Gakeler contributed to the win at the plate and on the mound. The lefthander hit a two-run double in the first and pitched a complete game, giving up two earned runs and striking out nine.

S.J. Group 2. Cinnaminson dispatched West Deptford, 8-1, for its first sectional title since 1975.

Senior lefthander John Bednarek struck out 11, allowing one hit. Cole Pewer went 2 for 5 and hit a two-run triple in a four-run fifth inning.

S.J. Group 1. A five-run second inning helped third seed Pitman upset top seed Pennsville, 8-3, for the title. Matt Ennis posted the win, and Trevor Datz, Chris Seibert, and Ryan Schmidt hit doubles for Pitman.

S.J. Non-Public B. Host Moorestown Friends won, 3-2, in nine innings over Marist in a semifinal. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth, senior shortstop Spencer Bard hit a hard ground ball that Marist's shortstop was unable to handle in time. Rutgers Prep awaits the Foxes in the title game, set for Tuesday.

S.J. Non-Public A. St. Augustine advanced to the final with a 4-2 win over visiting Bishop Eustace. Chris Oakley pitched a complete game. In the final Tuesday, St. Augustine will face a Gloucester Catholic, which beat Paul VI, 9-1.
