The win gave the Maidens a rematch with Neshaminy in a semifinal game Monday, at a time and place to be determined. North Penn lost to the Redskins in the semifinals of the District 1 tournament just a week ago.
"I really want a piece of them," second baseman Michelle Holweger said.
North Penn received another terrific effort from pitcher Jackie Bilotti and dominated at the plate, with seven players getting hits.
In the first two rounds of state-tournament play, Bilotti and the Maidens have given up only three hits en route to shutting out both opponents.
"The team gives me so much confidence," Bilotti said. "The defense behind me is awesome."
If everything went right for the Maidens (18-9), it was the exact opposite for the Patriots (19-5).
C.B. East uncharacteristically played sloppy defense and couldn't get the bats going.
"We kind of tried to capitalize on the fact that they had two freshman pitchers," Maher said. "We tried to capitalize off of their inexperience, and that is one thing that we do have."
In the two previous meetings between the teams this season, the Patriots outscored the Maidens, 13-4.
"The playoffs bring a lot of excitement, and I think that brings us up a lot," Bilotti said. "We know that it is single elimination and we need to come out strong from the beginning."
